A Step-by-Step Guide to Going on Your Dream Vacation

Most people reserve their dream vacations for their honeymoons or the days that they plan on winning the lottery. However, your dream vacation doesn’t have to be the stuff of dreams. Rather, if you start planning for it today, carrying out your dream vacation can be an absolute dream come true.

Save Up

Saving up for your dream vacation is the hardest, longest step of the entire process, but it is also without a shadow of a doubt the most important step in the process as well. Whether you”re going somewhere like the Casa de Campo hotel, or to a luxury lodge somewhere more local, it all still takes a good amount of time to get prepared. This will dictate whether or not you stay in a five-star, all-inclusive resort or a different hotel entirely. It can be the difference between flying on a warm, busy economy flight or flying via a private jet booked on a website like Jettly. This isn’t to say that you can’t have the vacation of dreams in a normal hotel, but if one of the things you were most looking forward to was a five-star accommodation, then you may want to start saving earlier. There are multiple ways that you can go about saving for your dream vacation, from getting a side job to having a garage sale. Don’t let money be the thing that stops you from having the vacation that you rightfully deserve.

Plan It Out, But Not Too Much

Planning things like getting there and back is essential to the trip, and it’s nice to have a few events planned out when you get there so that you and whoever you may travel with can have something to look forward to along the way. However, there is something to be said for spontaneity in a good vacation, too. Leave time in your schedule to do a few impromptu things, like if you see a parasailing place on the shore and want to conquer your fear of heights. Maybe look for hotels in Orlando, or your destination of choice which has a few features on the property, such as a waterpark or spa, in case you don”t really feel like going out that day. A lot of planning a good vacation is balance. Balance a budget, balance time, and balance everything that goes with that, too.

Enjoy

After you do all your planning, or all of your not planning for that matter, now comes the time for you to just sit back and enjoy the thing that you spent so much time and energy created. Take the time to put your phone on Do Not Disturb, set the vacation setting on your emails, and unplug for a few hours or even a whole day. Don’t let anyone take this from you, especially your boss or anyone from work. This is time for you. You saved so much and planned so much to get here, now savor every minute that you possibly can because even dream vacations can’t last forever.

Save the Memories

Whether you are into making a scrapbook, a Facebook album, or anything of the like, because you put so much time and effort into making this dream vacation, you should have a place for memories. Of course, the best is when you don’t have pictures of most of your favorite moments because that means that you were so in-the-moment that you didn’t have time to stop and take a picture. For the pictures that you did take, though, usually drugstores and some other local places have ways for you to print the photos you want so that you can have them for years to come to show your friends and family that their dream vacation, or any major purchase or thing that they want to do, is never so far out of reach that it’s impossible.

Getting the dream vacation that you’ve always wanted, though sometimes it can appear difficult, can really be boiled down to these four steps. Just like that, you’re on your way to one of the happiest times in your entire life. All it takes is a bit of smart financial planning today.
