Tech Life-Savers For The Travelling Business Owner

International travel is more accessible than ever these days. Like any cultural shift, this has had a pretty profound effect on the world of business. Whether it’s professionally or for leisure, when you travel your business still needs to stay operational. Managing your business on the move used to be hard, but modern technology has changed all that! Here’s some tech which will help any travelling business owner.

First of all, cloud storage. It’s 2016 now, so there’s a fair chance that you’ve heard all about cloud storage and use it in the day-to-day running of your venture. If it’s news to you, then you’ve got some serious catching up to do! Cloud storage allows you to store all your important files online, and then access it from anywhere where you can get an internet connection. When you’re lounging around a hotel pool and a qualm suddenly strikes you, I’m sure you don’t want to have to wait around for someone to email you back. With a good cloud service in place, you’ll be able to access those important documents whenever and wherever you like!

Next up, portable batteries. These little devices are a relatively new development, but they’re quickly becoming a common sight in a lot of public spaces. At one point, you’d be in the middle of some important IM conversation on a train or some other public transport, and get cut off by your battery dying. In the time it takes you to get to another power outlet, all kinds of things could have changed concerning whatever you were talking about. With a portable battery, this won’t be an issue. Buy one of these, charge it up at a computer or other outlet, and you’ll be able to plug your device in wherever you are. I’m sure you can imagine the frustrating situations that this will get you out of! These come in a range of capacities, but even cheap portable chargers can charge the latest Android four or five times over.

Finally, online mailboxes. This service is pretty popular for people who run a business from home, but want to put across a more professional image on all their letterheads. However, they also have a range of benefits for the modern travelling business owner. These services work by forwarding all your mail to a separate address, then scanning it and storing it online. This means that you could be in China and still read the letters that were posted directly to your door! You probably have a PA or receptionist dealing with your mail when you’re away already. However, you might find that an affordable online mail box is a much more convenient and sensible solution. At the very least, it will save you having to sort through boxes and boxes of old mail once you get back to the office!

I’m sure that at least one of these solutions has made your travels easier. Having to be away from the office is rarely ideal. However, there are probably some great solutions right under your nose!
